Admin panel for the head of department (the "lead teacher" role)¶
Who this is. "Lead teacher" (lead_teacher) is the product name for the role; at a university it is held by the head of department (kafedra mudiri) — someone who teaches classes themselves while also being responsible for the instructors in their department. That gives them two "faces" in the panel: a personal account (like a regular instructor's) plus limited visibility into the instructors of their own department.
In the current MVP there is no separate "lead teacher" role yet — for now it's just the regular "teacher" role; visibility into department instructors is on the roadmap. Below is the target picture.
What they see and can do¶
As an instructor — their own account¶
Everything a regular instructor has (for details, see the instructor's guide):
- a personal dashboard with their own metrics and rating;
- their own class sessions and their breakdown (lesson DNA, key moments, transcript, report, observation form);
- their own profile: goals, reviews, skills radar, voice recording (Voice ID).
As head of department — their own department (roadmap)¶
- visibility into the statistics, trends, and rating of their department's instructors;
- the ability to flag what deserves attention based on their metrics — a fact-based conversation instead of a "gut feeling" review.
At the university's discretion, the head of department can also act as the reviewer of observation forms for their department — in that case they're given the "academic manager" role (see the Education Quality Control Office).
What the head of department doesn't do¶
- Doesn't see the whole university — only themselves and their own department (not all of the university's instructors, not billing, not workload accounting, not problem groups across all faculties).
Bottom line: the head of department is "instructor plus manager": a full personal account for their own growth, plus limited visibility into their department to help their instructors.
